Upon entering you'll realise that there is much more to the Knowles Arms than meets the eye, making it one of the best restaurants in Blackburn! 3. The Dog Inn
The Dog Inn is the first community owned free house within East Lancashire and is set in the village of Belthorn, just outside of Blackburn. The restaurant and bar serves classic Gastropub food with a continental flair, while their separate coffee shop provides a range of hot and cold drinks, as well as a number of sweet treats and ice creams.
Being a community-owned establishment, there's more going on than just dining! This restaurant also serves as a make-shift community centre and hosts open mic sessions, a Bridge club, a book and DVD swap library, a Craft and Chat session and much more.

4. Scholars Training Restaurant
Based in the centre of Blackburn is the Scholars Training Restaurant, a fully licenced Bistro within Blackburn Collage. If you're looking for a fine dining experience without the price tag, this is the place for you! While being a training restaurant, Scholars is run by both industry professionals and amazing students from Blackburn Collage, and provides a welcoming fine dining experience.
The menu is updated continuously throughout the year with each dish using seasonal and fresh ingredients. If you have any dietary requirements, a plant-based menu is also available, as is a halal menu.
